As a valued Cocky Guides traveller, supporter or follower, I’d like to personally update you on the evolving 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and the precautions we’re taking.
The health and safety of our travellers and trip leaders are always our top priority. While the overall risk in Australia of contracting COVID-19 in the community remains low, we’re taking a number of steps to enhance your protection on our trips.
For the next 60 days, we have amended trips that use mass public transport or third party tour operators. These trips will use a private minivan (or similar) and they will be exclusive for our small groups only. Based on demand, our Family Fun Day at the Beach scheduled for 5 April 2020, and our Yarra Valley Day trip on 18 April 2020 have been cancelled.
Activities that involve a large gathering of people in an indoor environment will be substituted with an alternative experience. This will see activities like a visit to Adelaide’s Central Market suspended until further notice.
Antibacterial handwash is available on all tours and vehicles. Face masks are being carried with our first aid kits and will be distributed to travellers who become unwell or present flu-like symptoms.
We will continue to focus on presenting Australian destinations. Although we receive many requests to lead groups to International locations, we have temporarily paused our plans to travel overseas.
