Blind and low vision travellers set to see the sights of the Top End!

Australia’s leader in blind and low vision group travel, Cocky Guides, has teamed up with local tourism operator Autopia Tours, to present a new sensory adventure for blind and low vision travellers in the Northern Territory’s Top End.

Cocky Guides has created a purpose-built accessible tourism business for blind and low vision Australians, offering fully immersive and engaging sensory experiences to more than 50 destinations across the country. Now they are expanding into more active adventures in the Northern Territory.

Owner and founder of Cocky Guides, James (Buck) McFarlane, reckons, “We are very excited to immerse our travellers within iconic destinations across the Top End like Kakadu and Litchfield. Share stories about local indigenous culture, experience the kaleidoscope of multicultural influences and enjoy Darwin’s famous Mindil Beach Sunset Markets.”

Autopia Tours NT Business Manager Bianca DiNuzzo, explains, “Our priority was to listen to the lived experience of Cocky Guides leading tours in other destinations like Cairns and the Snowy Mountains. Once we understood the needs of Cocky Guides travellers, we have been able to make appropriate modifications and enhancements to our tours to provide an exception traveller experience in The Top End.”

Cocky Guides run tactile and sensory group adventures all around Australia. You can find out about upcoming experiences and register for their newsletter online at cockyguides.com.au or call 1300 657 640.
